Moldova Unitary state
Moldova, officially the Republic of Moldova, is a unitary state situated between Romania and Ukraine in Eastern Europe. It has a population of 3,461,000.
The Republic of Moldova has a two-tier local government system. The first tier consists of villages (sate), communes (comune), cities (orașe) and municipalities (municipii)*. The second tier comprises districts (raioane), the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia and the municipalities of Chișinău and Bălţi.
