Estonia Unitary state
Estonia (officially the Republic of Estonia) is a unitary state in Northern Europe. A European Union Member State, it stands on the eastern shore of the Baltic Sea and the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland.
Estonia is one of three countries, along with Latvia and Lithuania, commonly referred to for geopolitical reasons as the Baltic States. Since regaining independence in 1991, however, Estonia has sought to align itself with the Nordic countries. It has a population of 1,315,600 people and its capital and biggest city is Tallinn.
Estonia is divided into rural municipalities (vallad) and towns (linnad).
