Cyprus Unitary state
Cyprus is a unitary state on the island of Cyprus in the eastern Mediterranean. The country, which gained independence in 1960, has a population of 854,800 (2017). The country is divided into communities (koinotites) and municipalities (dimoi) which, together, form a single level of local self-government.
